Another wonderful addition to the Three Rivers Ranch Romance. In this book we get to read about Reese and Carly. I fall in love with all the characters from the Three Rivers Ranch!! I especially like the fact that we get to see some of the struggles that our verterans face and the reality that our service men and women make sacrifices when they enlist. I actually finished this book on July 4th and it couldn't have been more appropriate. We enjoy our freedom because someone else protected it for us. Reese and Carly's story show some of the struggles that couples can or will go through. The story left me wanting to move to Three Rivers Ranch myself. The book grabs you from the beginning and keeps your interest. My only con...it ended! I can't wait to read the next installment in the Three Rivers Range Romance Series. Loved it!I was given an advanced copy for my honest review. Thank you Liz for the opportunity.

I have enjoyed the Three Rivers Ranch series and I'm glad Reese got his story. I understood his rude behavior, as he's been described by other reviewers, and generally liked him. Carly was wishy-washy to me. She seemed to make really stupid decisions. It was good to get caught up on the couples from previous books, but this story just wasn't as strong as the previous stories. It's a clean, Christian romance that I enjoyed, but not as much as other books.
I was hooked from the start. Great clean romance. I really liked it. The only thing was to me was not enough "God" in it in the end. In the beginning and the middle they went to church and God was mentioned a few times, but the last half of the book I don't remember seeing his name. Other then that I would have gave a 5* rating. Very much worth the time to read. Very good clean story, well written.
Way to many writers seem to be stuck in the same rut of, only the beautiful people can find love. This story of a wounded war veteran and a veteran's social worker find them selves in a small community and recovery ranch. If I could offer just one complaint, this story could have been expanded to really show the situations wounded veterans encounter during their recovery from their service to the American government and our people.
I love horses and ranches, as well as the whole concept of Equine Therapy. Ms Isaacson's stories draw me into the characters, their pain and their joys. She includes details that add interest to the stories without being tedious or cumbersome, and develops sweet love stories based on respect and tenderness rather than graphic and gratuitous sex. I can't get enough of Three Rivers Ranch, and enjoy seeing favorites from the previous stories play substantial
roles in in subsequent stories. The Seventh Sargeant shows remarkable insight into some of the struggles faced by wounded veterans and the healing that can take place with the help and love of good friends.
Romance, clean, mild Christian Faith elements
Reese and Carly's story was a fun read. Carly was inexperienced, but determined to do something with her career. They both tried to walk around their feeling for each other, Carly because of work, and Reese with his injuries. As they got to know each other better, they both made compromises. Definitely a healing novel, with a fun attraction that finally worked out for them both. Always love seeing the characters at this ranch setting! Fun seeing some of the other characters in the background of this one as well.
Reese's injuries, his struggle with his job, his facing his injuries, and how Carly works her way into his heart, was a lovely read.
Another fun read!
Carly is a social worker for veterans. She counsels & researches benefits for them. Her very first client is Reese, an army vet who shattered his hip & injured his back during his last deployment. Reese works at Three Rivers Ranch where they have trained horses who help injured vets heal spiritually & physically. When Reese sees Carly drive up in her purple car the Sparks start flying! But, can he learn to accept her help? Can Carly put her dislike of small towns aside? This is another great book in the series! It shows how God wants us to accept the help of others & get over our "pity party"!
I love Liz Isaacson, her novels are truly wonderful! It is hard to find an author who can distinguish between a Christian Romance Novel and a Contemporary Romance Novel, but Ms. Isaacson does it and she does it well! I highly recommend every novel that I have read, and I hope that every novel I plan to read in the future is of the same quality!
"The Seventh Sergeant" shows the broken side of a veteran, the physical pain instead of just the mental agony that stays behind after the war. Reese Sanders was Pete's first patient at Courage Reins and has finally began to find his way in the war with his disabilities, that is until an accident might leave him paralyzed permanently. Can Carly Watters help Reese fight his way out of the deep hole of depression? Can there be a love story here?
I recommend this ten novel series, each one is better than the last. Very well written, it's like a story coming off the pages before your very eyes.
